Nathalie Auger

Dr. Auger (MD, MSc) is a Physician-Epidemiologist specializing in public health and preventive medicine. Dr. Auger is a researcher at the Research Center of the University of Montreal Hospital Center (CRCHUM) and National Institute of Public Health of Quebec (INSPQ), Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, School of Public Health, University of Montreal, and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health, McGill University. Dr. Auger’s research program focuses on the epidemiology of maternal-child health, from conception to birth and beyond. Her team uses administrative health records to study issues important to maternal-child health, such as pregnancy and delivery complications, premature birth, stillbirth, gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, as well as health outcomes later in life for both mother and child. The team uses cohort data that cover all deliveries in Quebec since 1989, including over 1.5 million women and 2.5 million children. Her team welcomes a number of students and interns every year. Under the supervision of her team members, students are involved in one or several projects focused on maternal-child health. The current projects are focused on the following topics: perinatal mental health, pregnancy and long-term maternal health, congenital anomalies, perinatal health, assisted reproductive technology, and childhood outcomes later in life.
