Dr. Giros (PhD) is a Full Professor at the McGill University in the Department of Psychiatry and has clearly established himself among the most highly respected and well-regarded leaders in neuropsychopharmacology and pre-clinical research in the field of psychiatric disorders. He has held the Canada Research Chair Tier-1 in Neurobiology of Psychiatric Disorders since 2008 and he has recently received the James B. McGill distinguished position from McGill University in recognition of his achievements. Since starting at McGill University and the Douglas Hospital Research Center, he has trained 9 MSc students, 4 PhD students and 9 postdocs. Moreover, a few years ago, Dr. Giros started to develop animal models of prenatal exposure to antidepressant drugs, in order to assess the developmental consequences on the offspring for motor and mental disorders.
