Dr. Brandace Winquist (PhD) is an Adjunct Professor in the College of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan and Co-Principal Investigator for the Canadian Mother-Child Cohort (CAMCCO) Active Surveillance Initiative. Brandace obtained her PhD in Community and Population Health Sciences at the University of Saskatchewan, after completing a strategic training fellowship in a Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)-funded Community and Population Health Research training program. Her research interests span the areas of perinatal epidemiology, health services and population health. Brandace is an investigator with the Canadian Network for Observational Drug Effects Studies (CNODES) and has served as the Saskatchewan and national content lead on multi-provincial studies investigating maternal-infant outcomes following prenatal exposure to medications. Dr. Winquist is a member of the Saskatchewan Health Authority’s senior leadership team and in this role provides oversight for the provincial Research, Ethics, and Academic Health Sciences Departments. She is leading work to advance Saskatchewan’s research data infrastructure and to build new partnerships between academic and health organizations. Brandace collaborates with interdisciplinary teams of researchers on solution-driven health research that spans a wide area of topics. She has a keen interest in learning health systems and the translation of new knowledge to improve patient care and population health. Brandace serves on various provincial and national research organizations, including the Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation Board, Health Research Data Network Leads Committee, HealthCareCan VP Research Committee, Saskatchewan Centre for Patient-Oriented Research Learning Health System Council, and Saskatchewan Academic Health Sciences Network.
